Description:

The Import Officer is responsible for ensuring that all the imported and in -transit goods are moved according to sound practices. The Import officer will provide support to the Import administrator and assist with the preparation of import documents in compliance with customs and government regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Prepares documents and forms to move goods efficiently through import steps and procedures.

· Reviews paperwork and documents to ensure shipping, handling, storage charges, and customs fees are billed correctly.

· Maintains a database that tracks merchandise.

· Processes claims on merchandise shortages and overages.

· Obtains exemptions from national and regional authorities for goods that the company imports.

· Receives and expedites freight out of the country or region of assignment in collaboration with external commercial partners.

· Is responsible for following up on, filling archiving import documents.

· Reports problems and irregularities in import activities, also ensures that latest custom regulations are communicated and applied.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills & Requirements:

· Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in procurement, Supply Chain Management, Law, Commerce, Business Administration, or related areas.

· 3 to 4 years’ of relevant working experience, particularly in clearing, forwarding will be an advantage

· Knowledge of Customs and import procedures with computer skills (MS.OFFICE)

· Fluent written and spoken command of the local working language as well as English and Urdu.

· Knowledge of shipping regulations and policies.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Job Summary
